But why should I have a website?
Not having an online presence in today’s market is like slamming the door shut on customers just as they are about to step in and do business with you. With over 70% of the Australian population online, what better way is there to reach your potential target audience? And an information website is the easiest, and usually the cheapest way to begin your online journey, and it supports your existing brand or real world business.
An informational website will allow you to:
- Establish credibility with your potential customers
- Promote your products and services 24/7, usually at a far cheaper cost than most traditional forms of marketing
- Reach new customers and allow old ones to reach you again easily.
- Easily update its content, ensuring it is up to date and relevant.
- Provide information to your clients online, without the need for you to send out pages of brochures or information
Of course, once you have a website, make sure you promote it:
- Add your web address (or URL) to ALL your stationery, business cards and sales literature, building and vehicle signage.
- Install a signature in your email, or have an email letterhead designed that will include your web address.
- If you advertise offline, include your web address. It is usually far easier to remember your URL, than to try to remember your phone number. (It does help if your domain isn’t too long!)
- Optimize your website so you can be found by your potential customers in search engines. No-one sets up shop where no-one can get to you, but many websites do.
